After my time as a freelance travel photographer, now 3 years ago, I decided to turn to documentary photography. This resulted in my first documentary project “Lasting Memories”, a journey through traces of the Dutch involvement in slavery in Ghana (West-Africa). Several projects followed, such as “Living Forts”, a (landscape) documentary about the reuse of the New Dutch Waterline.
My documentary photography is a form of journalistic photography. But while the photojournalists have to score with one picture that speaks for itself, I take the time to make a story in the form of a series of pictures. In the COMPOSITE project I wish to photograph the police teams faithfully with a high degree of objectivity.
Through the necessary depth in the pictures I’ll show how police officers or police teams react in certain situations.
